Bodegas Albizu, Caminante Tempranillo 2022
A serious crowd-pleaser style of Tempranillo that is brimming with fresh ripe red fruit flavours with hints of blackberries. There is no oak here making it very both easy drinking and the . Serve with or without food, or even straight out of the fridge on the warmer weather. Produced by Viña Albergada, a highly respected Rioja producer, the wine comes from vineyards planted within the Rioja Alavesa appellation. The soils are a mix of limestones and clay which brings a natural acidity and balance to the wine. This example, made by a Rioja producer, from grapes grown within the region, doesn’t actually have the name Rioja on the label, as it is made slightly outside of the rules, but it certainly tastes like it.

Quattro Tinto DOC Douro 2019

Quattro Tinto DOC Douro 2019
This Douro red tastes like it it more expensive than it is, and we love wines like that! It is a cracker, bursting with the intense aromas of forest fruits like blueberries, black cherry, and blackberries. There’s a seductive touch of cocoa and chocolate in the background, giving it that extra layer of richness. On the palate, it’s silky smooth and beautifully balanced, showing off its ripe fruit with elegance and finesse. Made from a classic Douro blend, this wine perfectly captures the bold and robust nature of the region. Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz lead the charge, bringing deep, rich flavours of dark fruits with subtle hints of spice and earthiness.

Kanonkop Kadette Pinotage, South Africa 2022
Our favourite ever Pinotage! Flavours of red and black fruit, such as blackberry, raspberry, and cherry, with notes of vanilla, spice, and a subtle hint of smokiness. The wine is full-bodied and rich, with firm tannins and a balanced acidity, leading to a long and smooth finish. It pairs well with grilled meats, spicy dishes, and strong cheeses. Brilliant value for money. Kadette Pinotage is aged for 12 months in a combination of French and American oak barrels, which adds complexity and depth to the wine. This aging process results in a well-structured and elegant wine that benefits from aging. It's a great choice for those who enjoy a full-bodied and rich red wine with a unique South African character. Kanonkop Kadette Pinotage showcases the quality and character that can be found in South African wines.

Donnafugata 'Sherazade' Nero d'Avola 2022
A really gorgeous and elegant Nero d'Avola, WOW! A huge step up from most of the Nero d'Avola you will have ever tried. Dry with brambly purple fruit and floral, violet tones. A special wine to treat yourself with. There spicy nuances will help the wine pair beautifully with roast lamb served with caponata. The Rallo family started out as Marsala producers in 1851, but when sales started to decline they were one of the first families to start producing top quality table wines, launching Donnafugata in 1983, championing the regions native grape varieties.
