Domaine Trenel Beaujolais Blanc

Domaine Trenel Beaujolais Blanc
White Beaujolais is a rare gem. Made from the Chardonnay grape and tasting very similar to a Macon, this is fresh, crisp and tart. Aged on its lees and with a nice creamy texture, it is also a nice alternative to Chablis.  Trenel is everything I love about Beaujolais. This is a family-run producer that’s been doing things properly for generations, making wines that are all about freshness, vibrancy, and drinkability. Their focus is on terroir, and it shows—each bottle feels like a little postcard from the rolling hills of southern Burgundy. Whether it’s their silky Beaujolais-Villages or something a bit more serious from Morgon or Fleurie, Trénel always brings the goods. Delicious with a chill, dangerously easy to drink, and absolutely what you want on your table right now.

Domaine Trenel Coteaux Bourguignons

Domaine Trenel Coteaux Bourguignons
Coteaux Bourguignons refers to the slopes of Burgundy, and Trenel have produced one that is exclusively Gamay, the same grape as Beaujolais. This is a lovely juicy expression, full of delicious vibrant summer red fruit. There is very little sulphur in this bottling, an it is as fresh as a daisy.  Trenel is everything I love about Beaujolais—pure, juicy Gamay with real soul. Domaine Trenel Fleurie

Domaine Trenel Fleurie
Fleurie is one of Beaujolais's most well known regions and for good reason. It delivers excellent quality, fruit-forward wines. This one has added layers of spice and savoury hints, coming from the pink granite soils. It's delicious.  Trenel is everything I love about Beaujolais—pure, juicy Gamay with real soul. Domaine Trenel Fleurie
Wow. It's not often that I describe a wine as exciting, but that is exactly what this one is.  This is Fleurie at its most classic—elegant, expressive, and just the right side of powerful. Grown on the high slopes beneath the chapel of La Madone (yes, there’s an actual Madonna statue watching over the vines), this wine has all the charm you'd expect from a top Beaujolais Cru. It’s 100% Gamay, but don’t let that fool you—this is no lightweight. With 21 days of maceration and 50% whole-bunch fermentation, it’s silky but structured, with juicy cherry, rose petal, and a whisper of spice. Trenel is everything I love about Beaujolais—pure, juicy Gamay with real soul. Domaine Trenel Julienas Les Capitans

Domaine Trenel Julienas Les Capitans
There’s power here, but it’s not showy—it’s poised and quietly confident. This isn’t a bottle for Tuesday night, this is a Beaujolais with serious ambition—and one to watch. Sourced from incredibly old vines—some over 100 years old—and grown in one of Juliénas' most iconic sites, this wine is dark, brooding, and built to last. It opens with rich black fruits, earthy tobacco, and a lick of liquorice, all wrapped up in that signature Gamay softness. Trenel is everything I love about Beaujolais—pure, juicy Gamay with real soul. Domaine Trenel Morgon Cote du Py

Domaine Trenel Morgon Cote du Py
This is my top pick from the Trenel range. This is Beaujolais, but not as you know it. From the iconic Côte du Py hillside in Morgon, this is grown-up Beaujolais—intense, structured, and brimming with depth. It pours a rich ruby red and hits you straight away with ripe raspberry, black cherry, and a lovely earthy, mineral twist—think crushed flint and a hint of ink. On the palate, it’s full-bodied and spicy (hello, black pepper and clove), but what I love most is its balance—big and bold, but also incredibly elegant. Trenel is everything I love about Beaujolais—pure, juicy Gamay with real soul.
