Sangiovese
Sangiovese is the beating heart of Italian wine, the grape behind some of the country's most iconic bottles including the beloved Chianti and many of the finest wines across Italy. Characterised by bright cherry fruit, lively acidity, earthy undertones and firm but elegant tannins, Sangiovese is a naturally food-friendly grape that comes alive at the dinner table alongside pasta, pizza, roasted meats and aged cheeses. Grown almost exclusively in Tuscany and central Italy, it is a grape with a true sense of place and one that rewards exploration across its many expressions and styles.
