Description
Is this one of the best non-vintage Champagnes on the market? We think it is hard to beat! Charles Heidsieck Brut Réserve is an opulent Champagne with the perfect balance of freshness and generosity. Radiant pale gold in colour, it shows fine, persistent bubbles and aromas of pastry, ripe apricot, mango and dried fruits. The palate is silky and layered, with plum pastry, melon and spice, finishing with both richness and remarkable freshness.
Founded in 1851 by Charles Heidsieck, the man affectionately known as ‘Champagne Charlie’, this house is the smallest of the Grandes Marques yet one of the most admired. Based in Reims, the wines benefit from grapes sourced across 60 top vineyard sites including Oger, Ambonnay and Verneuil, delivering texture, power and finesse. The Brut Réserve spends 36–48 months ageing in chalk cellars, far longer than required, and is built on an unusually high proportion of reserve wines averaging 10 years old. With a winemaking team that has won Sparkling Winemaker of the Year at the International Wine Challenge 16 times, Charles Heidsieck continues to be celebrated for its unrivalled consistency and depth of style.
