Description
Compared to the village ‘old vine’, this premier cru is more structured, vigorous, punchy. This is quite dense, with plum, earth, spice and a brooding, 'sauvage'-like nose. Excellent detail, ample and a supple tannic spine that is beautifully soft and supple. This is a ripe, pure, ‘old-school’ Burgundy in the sense that there is a rather deep core of black cherry fruit with a touch of earth, a little minerality, and a pleasing little bit of rustic chewiness to the finishing tannins. Domaine Charleux is a family-owned winery located in the heart of Burgundy's Cote de Nuits region. The estate has been producing exceptional wines for over five generations, and today, it is run by brothers Xavier and Jérôme Charleux. They are committed to sustainable farming practices and use traditional winemaking techniques to produce high-quality Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines that showcase the unique terroir of Burgundy.
