Description
A luminous, perfumed Gamay that captures everything we love about Fleurie. This is floral, juicy, and dangerously easy to drink. Old bush vines from prime sites ‘Les Labourons’ and ‘La Madone’ bring depth and lift, with a nose of crushed raspberry, violet, and a flicker of white pepper. The palate is silky and bright, with crunchy red fruit, fine-grained tannins, and a vibrant freshness that carries through to a savoury, moreish finish.
Australian-born Jane Eyre has become one of the most exciting voices in modern Burgundy and Beaujolais, earning two stars in Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France and being named ‘Négociant of the Year’ in 2021. A good friend of fellow trailblazer Roisin Curley, Jane shares a similar ethos of precision, purity, and site expression. Her Fleurie is made from old vines grown on granite soils at 300 metres altitude, mostly from ‘Les Labourons’, a site earmarked for Premier Cru status. Fermented with 60% whole bunches and aged in a mix of oak, stainless steel and ceramic, it’s a pure and energetic expression of Cru Beaujolais. A joyful wine from one of the region’s most thoughtful winemakers.
