Description
This Mercurey Premier Cru is a refined and expressive Burgundy red wine made from 100% Pinot Noir. Grown on high-altitude, clay-rich slopes in the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise, it opens with bright red cherry and raspberry notes, followed by hints of kirsch, sweet spice and a touch of oak. The palate is juicy yet elegant, with fine tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, mineral finish that showcases both purity and structure.
Domaine du Château Philippe le Hardi is one of the largest certified organic estates in Burgundy, with vineyards across the Cote d’Or and Cote Chalonnaise. Formerly known as Château de Santenay, the estate was renamed in honour of Philippe the Bold, the 14th-century Duke of Burgundy whose legacy shaped the region’s devotion to Pinot Noir. ‘Les Puillets’ is one of the highest Premier Cru vineyards in Mercurey, with ideal south-west exposure and 30-year-old vines. This Mercurey red wine combines classic Burgundian finesse with a fresh, modern vibrancy.
