Quinta dos Carvalhais Dao Encruzado is a premium Portuguese white wine with layers of ripe pear, baked apple and citrus zest wrapped in a beautifully creamy texture. There is weight and quiet power here, balanced by fresh acidity and a fine mineral line that keeps it poised and elegant. Retailing at over €30, this is the bottle to reach for if you love White Burgundy, particularly the rounded, structured style of Pouilly Fuisse.
Produced by Quinta dos Carvalhais in the granite rich vineyards of the Dao, this wine highlights the remarkable potential of the Encruzado grape. Dao’s altitude and cooling influences help create whites with both depth and precision, giving structure without heaviness. Thoughtful oak ageing enhances texture while allowing fruit purity and terroir expression to shine.
