Description
Bright and lifted, this Beaujolais Nouveau from Jean Foillard bursts with red berry charm. Expect juicy raspberry, wild strawberry and a touch of violet, with a light and breezy texture that makes it instantly drinkable. Unlike many Nouveau wines, it skips the artificial candy character and instead delivers a clean, vibrant expression of Gamay that is just as enjoyable the following summer.
Jean Foillard is one of the natural wine icons of Beaujolais and an original member of the legendary ‘gang of four’ who transformed the region in the 1980s. Rejecting chemical treatments in the vineyard and sugar additions in the cellar, he became best known for his world-class Morgon wines, especially the volcanic Côte du Py. This Nouveau shows his playful side, made with the same philosophy but offering a lighter, more joyful style. A benchmark producer with global recognition, Foillard’s wines are both highly sought after and a gateway to understanding why Beaujolais is one of France’s most exciting regions today.
