Description
This is Tempranillo with a twist, blending in a splash of Malvar for a fresh, lifted character. Expect ripe blackberries, dark cherries, and a dusting of warm spice, all wrapped up in a silky texture with fine, well-integrated tannins. Hints of tobacco, earthy leather, and a touch of liquorice add depth, while the vibrant acidity keeps it juicy and incredibly drinkable. A modern, easygoing Spanish red, perfect for pairing with tapas, pasta, grilled meats, or just a relaxed midweek pour.
Winemaker Marc Isart knows a thing or two about crafting expressive, terroir-driven wines. After making waves at Bernabeleva and co-founding Commando G, he returned to the rugged hills of Madrid to start his own project—La Maldición (meaning "The Curse"), a nod to the remote, hard-to-farm vineyards sitting at over 700m altitude. Working biodynamically with 60-100-year-old vines, he ferments this blend spontaneously in concrete and used French oak, letting the pure fruit and mineral-driven character shine. A new-wave Spanish red that’s full of energy, authenticity, and charm.
