Description
A hidden gem from Italy’s volcanic heartland, this Gambellara Classico is a must-try for Chablis lovers. Made from Garganega grapes, it’s crisp, dry, and beautifully mineral-driven, with aromas of yellow peach, ripe apple, and a touch of spice. The palate is vibrant and refreshing, with layers of chalky minerality, juicy pear, and citrus zest, leading to a long, clean finish. A perfect match for creamy pasta, seafood, light starters, or risotto, this wine brings the same steely precision and finesse as top-tier Chablis—but with an Italian soul.
Founded in 1947, Cantina di Gambellara is a co-operative winery uniting nearly 300 growers across 600 hectares of volcanic soils between Vicenza and Verona, just east of Soave. Known for its commitment to sustainability and small-production hillside parcels, the winery merged with Cantina Colli Vicentini in 2015, bringing together decades of expertise. Winemaker Alberto Marchisio, with consultant Matt Thomson of Blank Canvas, carefully selects the finest grapes to craft wines that express purity, minerality, and depth.
