Mencia
Mencía is one of north-west Spain's most exciting and distinctive red grapes, producing wines of real elegance, freshness and terroir-driven character in Galicia and the neighbouring region of Bierzo. Light to medium in body with vibrant red fruit, floral aromatics, earthy mineral depth and a silky, approachable texture, Mencía is often compared to Pinot Noir for its delicacy and sense of place. Brilliant alongside lighter meat dishes, charcuterie and soft cheeses, it is one of the most food-friendly and rewarding red grapes coming out of the Iberian Peninsula.
