Monastrell
Monastrell is one of Spain's most ancient and characterful red grapes, known as Mourvèdre in France where it plays a key role in the blends of the southern Rhône and Provence. In Spain, it thrives in the hot, arid regions of Valencia, Jumilla and Yecla, producing bold, inky reds of real intensity and warmth. Expect concentrated dark fruit, earthy spice, leather and a meaty depth that makes it a brilliant match for grilled meats, stews and aged cheeses. Outstanding value and full of personality.
