Ramnista is made from 100% Xinomavro grown in selected vineyard parcels around Naoussa, on the foothills of Mount Vermion in northern Greece. Xinomavro is often compared to Nebbiolo thanks to its fragrant red fruit, fresh acidity, fine tannins and impressive ageing potential, with Naoussa considered the great heartland of the grape. The vineyard parcels are vinified separately before the wine is aged in French oak, bringing additional texture, complexity and polish. Kir Yianni has played a major role in the modern revival of Naoussa, and Ramnista is one of its benchmark wines, showing just how exciting and serious Greek red wine can be.
