Monterrei is one of Galicia's most exciting and least explored wine appellations, tucked into the south-east corner of the region on the Portuguese border. Sheltered from the Atlantic by mountains, it enjoys a warmer, drier climate than its Galician neighbours, producing wines of real concentration and character.
