Description
Grown up and stylish, Ca dei Frati Cuvee dei Frati Extra Brut NV is a serious sparkling wine with real presence. Aromas of citrus peel and green apple sit alongside nutty, savoury notes, while the palate shows a minerally core, fine mousse and impressive richness. The finish is extremely long, nearly the longest of any sparkling wine or Champagne I have tried, and it simply goes on and on with a gorgeous persistence that speaks to its quality.
Ca dei Frati is one of the most respected estates on the southern shores of Lake Garda in the Lugana area of northern Italy. The winery is known for meticulous vineyard work and a deep understanding of its clay and limestone soils, which bring structure and mineral tension to the wines. Although widely recognised for its still Lugana made from Turbiana, the estate also produces exceptional traditional method sparkling wines with precision and ageing potential. This Cuvee dei Frati reflects that philosophy, combining refinement, depth and remarkable length in a benchmark example of premium Italian sparkling wine.
