Description
This beautifully structured Pinot Noir is just beginning to enter its perfect drinking window, but has the depth and balance to age gracefully over the next few years. Aromas of red cherry, wild raspberry, and crushed violets lead into a palate that is silky yet vibrant, with layers of cranberry, sweet spice, and a hint of earthiness. The fine-grained tannins are well-integrated, while the bright acidity keeps everything fresh and poised. The finish is long and refined, promising even greater complexity with time in bottle.
Domaine Chevalier & Filles, a historic estate in Ladoix at the foot of the famed Corton hill, is now led by Chloé and Julie Chevalier, a dynamic fourth-generation team bringing fresh energy to this rising appellation. Their old-vine (45 years on average) Pinot Noir comes from chalky-clay soils, giving the wine minerality and depth. Aged for 12 months in oak (30% second-use barrels), this is a wine of finesse and structure, rewarding both early enjoyment and short-term cellaring.
