About Domaine des Deux Clés "Jeux de Clés", Roussanne
Domaine des Deux Clés "Jeux de Clés" Roussanne 2022 was one of the standout white wines I tasted this year. This 100% Roussanne from the Corbières is a rich, creamy, round and opulent French white wine that massively overdelivers for the price. If I had been served it blind, I would have happily guessed it was a premium White Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Aromas of ripe peach, apricot, citrus peel and white flowers lead into a luxurious palate packed with stone fruit, subtle spice and a beautifully silky texture. Powerful yet elegant, this Roussanne wine has the concentration and depth of a great White Rhône, balanced by freshness and a long, lingering finish. For lovers of White Châteauneuf-du-Pape, White Rhône wines or full-bodied white Burgundy, this is an absolute steal. Extremely highly recommended and available in very limited quantities.
Founded by Gaëlle and Florian Richter, Domaine des Deux Clés is one of the most exciting young estates in the Corbières appellation of the Languedoc. The Franco-German couple met while working in Burgundy before settling in the high-altitude village of Fontjoncouse, one of the coolest terroirs in southern France. Working according to organic and biodynamic principles, they farm old vines by hand, use indigenous yeasts and produce wines with remarkable precision and finesse. Their Burgundian attention to detail combined with the character of the rugged Corbières landscape has quickly established Domaine des Deux Clés as one of the rising stars of the region.
