Description
A polished and expressive Saint-Julien, this left bank Bordeaux shows the pedigree of its iconic parent estate. Plush blackcurrant and plum flavours are lifted by notes of cedar, tobacco leaf and a gentle floral perfume. The palate is silky and full-bodied with velvety tannins and a long, savoury finish that’s all charm and finesse.
This is the second wine of Chateau Leoville Poyferre, a second growth estate in the heart of Saint-Julien. The château has been run by the Cuvelier family for over a century and is known for its innovative spirit and attention to detail. Pavillon de Leoville Poyferre is made from estate-grown fruit and vinified with the same care as the grand vin, using a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Aged in used French oak, this wine reflects both the structure and elegance of Saint-Julien with a supple edge that makes it approachable even in its youth.
