Niepoort has been a name in Portuguese wine since 1842, founded by Dutchman Franciscus Marius Niepoort and now led by fifth generation siblings Dirk and Verena. Best known as a small but visionary Port house, the family has since built one of Portugal's most respected names, producing everything from traditional Ports to expressive natural wines across the Douro, Bairrada and Minho. Dirk's deep commitment to understanding soils and native grapes has pushed the estate toward organic and biodynamic farming, and this wine is a lovely, playful expression of that philosophy.
